"Missing Time" Experience?

Long roadtrips are the essence of a career in music and I've seen a lot of peculiar events on the highways and byways of this great land. I've seen a barn full of glass cow art, I've seen a Hank Williams Museum built into a 7/11 and I've seen sort of a goat-man through the gaps in a horse trailer.

But mostly I've just gotten tired of tapes and CDs and tuned in the local or regional TalkNet channel, and by 11:00 it's up all night with the horrors of Art Bell..

One experience...

The Legend of Dogman

Every Region of the country has its cryptozoological beings and tales and Pure Michigan surely is no exception.

If I was to venture a layman's theory I'd be inclined to assume that this is some sort of lycanthrope. Sort of like a werewolf but smaller. Like a Shi'tzu on steroids or a lot of Peanut Butter Crunch and RedBull.

The Legend of Dogman

The Legend began as a simple April Fools Day prank on WTCM Radio, but since then has become forever woven into the culture and folklore of Michigan. The year 2012 was the 25th Anniversary of the song, and we celebrate the silver anniversary in a big way.

Since The Legend first hit the airwaves in 1987, it has become a lightning rod; a conduit for people who, beyond all contention, believe that they have seen the dogman, or discovered evidence of his existence.
On the pages in this section, you will explore some of the most compelling of these sighting reports. Some are supported by actual physical evidence, others are first-hand accounts, some are second-hand, and a handful are hearsay based on old family folklore. In some cases, contributors have requested anonymity, and we will honor those wishes.
Lacking the resources to thoroughly investigate these claims, Mindstage Productions offers no conclusion as to the validity of this information. Therefore, it is presented in the context of entertainment only.
Belief in the Michigan dogman is a subjective and personal matter. Only you can decide.

Billy Carlucie, the Soup Kitchen Brawler.

story by Troy Evitt

Only in a town like this could a two-bit palooka like me from Hoboken with a busted nose and a slack jaw get a shot at promoting Billy Carlucie, the Soup Kitchen Brawler. The little bastard fought like a caged monkey on opium. He had heart, he had guts. Hell, he had what would've been his identical twin growing out of his left shoulder blade. You'd think there was two of them the way you'd see the little freak roll his eyes and spit. But then, that was the kid's edge. Half the time, the contender would forfeit from the sheer horror of it all. The other half the time, Billy'd get the living shit beat out of him, but he'd still win 'cause the little half-twin thing would push him up before the ref could declare a TKO. Tell ya what, buddy boy, dem was the days.

He had a promising shot at the title. Then one day he gets drunk before a bout with Chicken Willie. It was a real ruckus! Billy went down in the third round. Passed out or knocked out, it was over. After that, he was never the same. He hired some muscle and a mouthpiece to fix his fights. He started letting the little twin-thing drive. Pretty soon, he was letting it box in fixed fights while he signed autographs. Then, one day, they found him dead. no one was sure if he choked on vomit or burned to death.

Mashfull of Potato Chip.

"Chips, goddammit, I eat too much potato chips. Mashed up in my face, most end up in my mouth. But then, boom! I sneeze."-Yeti

And when he's had too many salty snacks, Yeti goes for beer everytime. Malt Liquor, actually.

I just hate having to explain to Yeti that you don't go around taking advantage of womans who have had too much malt liquor and can't stand up.

"But, 'Works Every Time!', advertisement say so!"

And you try to remind him that this was back when Billy Dee Williams had been introduced to most of us peckerwoods due to "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back" and date rape was apparently perfectly acceptable.
